5 Tips to finding the best arch support sandal

Podiatrist Dr. Steve Rosenberg spills all flat-sandals dirty secrets to the The Huffington Post: "The lack of arch support in sandals and flip flops can cause discomfort in the great toe joint and arch cramps. Without the proper arch support in your shoes the great toe joint is not supported and can cause joint pain when walking. Mirror Mirror: Meditation and Self-Love

Mirror Mirror: Meditation and Self-Love

when you look in the mirror, do you like what you see?

the nose, the hair, the eyes – that’s certainly part of it, but can you see your spirit reflected in the glass too?

our physical bodies are only the vessels that carry our awareness in this reality. so the first step is embracing, loving, and taking care of that beautiful container. and each of our containers is different – even twins don’t have matching fingerprints – there’s no point trying to compare our legs, our hips, our bodies to someone else’s. we’ve been created perfectly to carry out the mission destiny has planned for us. so why would we want to be in someone else’s spaceship?

Brownies that make you feel GOOD

Brownies that make you feel GOOD

We're girls. We like to eat, but we like to feel good. And chocolate makes us feel good, but usually not when it's mixed with preservatives and chemicals and a whole buncha butter. So what's a lady to do?

Unsweetened dark, simple chocolate increases the serotonin (the feel-good hormone!) levels in the brain, leaving us on a little high - but we didn't have to tell you that. A superfood high in antioxidants, it also has bucket loads of magnesium (41 mg in 1 oz!).

Go Green for St. Patty's Day!

Go Green for St. Patty's Day!

Did you know?
1. Plastic bags take anywhere from 15 to 1000 years to decompose.
2. Only 1 percent of plastic bags are recycled in the United States. The rest end up in landfills, the ocean, or some other place in the environment. There's actually a giant garbage heap made mostly of plastic floating in the ocean that's twice the size of the United States.
3. It's estimated that 1 million birds and thousands of turtles and other sea animals die each year after ingesting discarded plastic bags.
4. More than 10 percent of washed-up debris polluting the U.S. coastline is made up of plastic bags.
5. It takes 12 million barrels of oil to produce the estimated 100 billion plastic bags Americans use each year.
6. The petroleum used to produce 14 plastic bags can drive a car one mile.

Today, try not to use a plastic bag when you do your groceries!

Achy Legs? Throw out those flip-flops, high-heels, and flats

Legs achy? Do they feel like giant marble-stone pillars attached to your hips? Tired, aching legs can be the result of standing on your feet for long periods of time, and while rest and periodic sitting can (certainly) help alleviate the problem, wearing footwear that does not have stability or sufficient cushioning or arch support will absolutely aggravate the issue.

Arch and Heel and Ball of Foot Pain, Oh My!

Did you know that we walk an average of 115,000 miles in our lifetime? Invest In A Treadmill - Here's Why

Invest In A Treadmill - Here's Why

Even though running outdoors is great for fresh air and getting in touch with nature or … concrete jungles, a treadmill is a really cool tool to invest in. If you’re someone who can put one foot in front of the other, I highly recommend you consider the purchase. Of course treadmills can be pricey; a brand new model selling for just a few hundred dollars would probably not provide a positive experience. But a quality treadmill which provides a convenient, weather proof, at-home opportunity to train at all hours while enjoying your favorite television shows would qualify in my “fitness expert” book as a wise investment.

A Halloween dressed up or a Halloween dress down – whatever your style, you need to be comfortable. And we all know that starts with those pretty little feet of yours. Tighten up your Therafits because it’s gonna be a long night.
